Hours: 16 hours per week per annum term time only plus 16 INSET hours per academic year.

An XTND family engagement worker is approachable, a team player, calm, flexible, creative, and innovative with a supportive nature, as well as being confident, consistent and resourceful with experience supporting families and we now have an opportunity for you to join the XTND team.

As a family engagement worker you will play a crucial role in securing funding opportunities to support our initiatives and enhancing family engagement at school. You will work closely with community organisations, families and grant-making institutions to identify gaps within the community provision, promote engagement and deliver targeted activities to support parents, carers and families. You will support the delivery of highly successful programmes, which aim to have a positive impact on pupils’ wellbeing, attendance and attitudes to learning. You will be able to grow and maintain strong relationships with families, community members and partner organisations and preferably have some experience of leading/facilitating/monitoring and evaluating initiatives for parents and families in a school/community setting. Acting as a liaison between families and the school ensuring effective communication and engagement, you will demonstrate enthusiasm for speaking with and engaging families.

The charity works in partnership with Bournville and Windwhistle Primary Schools and the statutory, voluntary and community sectors, to find solutions to the challenges faced by our local families.

You should have:

• Experience of working with children/young people and their parents/carers

• An ability to work independently, following the framework of an agreed plan

• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to write professional reports in a clear and concise manner

• Excellent IT skills especially in Microsoft office packages

• An ability to engage with a diverse range of families

• An approachable manner with a calm and responsible attitude

• Strong team working skills.

We are unable to provide sponsorship for this role under the Home Office Skilled Worker visa route. As we are unable to sponsor anyone requiring a visa for this role candidates must therefore be able to provide their own right to work in the UK.
