Bournville is a large and busy school in Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset, over-subscribed with first choice applications for reception places and we are looking for an excellent administrative professional with a proven track record of working in a high pressure, fast paced environment. You will be supervising administrative and business processes and support staff in the office and be responsible for undertaking administrative, financial, and organisational duties that support the operation and management of the school in a positive and effective way, maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Bournville has a firm belief that school should be a place where everybody feels valued and respected. Everyone, staff and pupils, are proud of their personal achievements and the achievements of the school.

Having excellent computer skills is essential to ensure tasks can be completed efficiently. In addition, you must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate with staff, visitors, pupils and parents. We are looking for someone who can start immediately and that is ready for a challenging, but rewarding, role.

As part of this role, you will:

• report directly to the senior leadership team (SLT) regarding administration leadership

• supervise the day-to-day work of the administrative function of the school office, prioritising duties to meet daily, weekly, monthly termly and annual deadlines.

• contribute towards the planning, development and organisation of the support service systems, procedures and policies

• supervise, train and develop administration staff as appropriate.

• oversee the provision of effective office and reception services as one of the first points of contact in the school.

• Maintain a courteous, polite, efficient and effective front of house service for all parents, pupils, staff, governors and visitors, in accordance with safeguarding procedures.

The children and parents value the school and the brilliant work of the busy office team, who pride themselves on excellent customer service, clear communication and maintaining efficient systems. Above all, they recognise that they are the first point of contact for visitors and understand that everybody wants to be greeted by a warm smile.

Investment in staff wellbeing and training is a priority in our organisation to ensure we offer an excellent service. As part of ELAN (Extend Learning Academies Network), you will benefit from a wider network of colleagues across other schools and within central HR, finance and communications to ensure you are well supported and your knowledge is kept up-to-date.

Bournville Primary School is a modern, fully inclusive school for 2-11 year-olds in Weston-super-Mare. At Bournville, we are passionate about children’s education. We are informed by the most up-to-date and relevant research and we are not afraid to take risks and try something new. Our teachers encourage children to have enquiring minds, take pride in their achievements, and have respect for moral and personal values. Bournville is more than just a school, it is a family that understands and works with all aspects of the child. Adults who work at Bournville will be advocates for the children in our school and have excellent ability to develop relationships with children and families.
